EOAgriTwin at Major International Events

EOAgriTwin project will be actively represented at two major international scientific events that are highly relevant to the development of agricultural Digital Twins.

ESA Digital Twin Earth Components Open Science Meeting 2026
2–4 February 2026 | ESRIN, Frascati, Italy

EOAgriTwin will contribute extensively to the ESA Digital Twin Earth Components Open Science Meeting, which brings together researchers and practitioners working on Digital Twin concepts, Earth system components, and open science workflows.

The project will be present with:

  • Two oral presentations focusing on EOAgriTwin and its co-development approach with users and stakeholders
  • Several live demonstrations highlighting EO-based workflows, prototype components, and “what if” scenarios
  • Six posters presenting scientific and technical aspects of EOAgriTwin, including data pipelines, modelling components, and use case implementations

3rd International Crop Modelling Symposium (iCROPM2026)
2–4 February 2026 | Florence, Italy

In parallel, EOAgriTwin will also be represented at the 3rd International Crop Modelling Symposium, dedicated to “Crop Modelling for Agriculture and Food Security under Global Change”.

Dr. Jamina Bondad will give an oral presentation within the session Decision making & Innovation entitled:
Process-Based Detection of Drought Stress at Scale: Insights from Silage Maize and Winter Wheat Dynamics in Germany

The contribution presents process-based approaches for detecting drought stress in major cropping systems and demonstrates how such models can be applied at scale. This work represents a foundational component for agricultural Digital Twins, particularly for scenario-based exploration of drought impacts and management responses.
