EOAgriTwin at the 2026 National Copernicus Forum

EOAgriTwin at the 2026 National Copernicus Forum

The EOAgriTwin project will take part in the National Forum for Remote Sensing and Copernicus 2026 in Darmstadt. The team will present recent technical progress on an Earth observation-based digital twin that supports monitoring and strengthening agricultural resilience.

A key aim of EOAgriTwin is to develop scalable, reusable analysis methods that can assess agricultural systems under different climate and environmental pressures. Through its integration with the Destination Earth (DestinE) initiative, the project provides tools for detailed simulations, “what-if” scenario analyses, and continuous monitoring of crop development and stress impacts.

Project representatives will contribute to two primary thematic sessions:

Session A.1 – Digital Twins in Earth Observation: Current Developments and Perspectives Dr. Maximilian Schwarz (Remote Sensing Solutions GmbH) will present the implementation and integration of EOAgriTwin within the DestinE ecosystem. The presentation will focus on system architecture, different use cases and methods used in EOAgriTwin.

Session C.1 – Copernicus for the Agriculture of the Future Jonas Schreier (Leibniz Centre for Agricultural Landscape Research – ZALF) will discuss the application of EO-based land surface temperature and evapotranspiration data based on Sentinel-3 and Sentinel-2 time series.
